I emailed this shop a photo of some tattoos I wanted to get redone on my forearm by Rick. I live about 40 minutes out but wanted Silkworm because they had done a beautiful tattoo on my friend. The person who responded to my email said they could “absolutely” fix my tattoos. When I arrived for my consultation, Rick spoke to me for approximately 3 minutes. He hadn’t bothered to look at the email or photo and immediately told me he wouldn’t re-do them, only cover them. I initially agreed, and that was the whole consultation. No questions about the style I wanted it in, placement, etc. It was extremely unprofessional and honestly just really annoying. I’m glad I didn’t end up sitting with that guy for several hours getting tattooed; not my idea of a good time. This review deserves to contain a healthy sprinkle of expletives, but I’m not sure google allows it.

This all started on Friday 13th. Arrived at 3pm to get one of their Friday the 13th tattoo deals. Put our name on the list and proceeded to wait. Some time around 7:30pm we inquired about how much longer it would be and they advised that they would not be able to get to us tonight and that they would call us next week with a time that we could come back and get a tattoo. They called on Wednesday the next week and asked when we wanted to come in and I asked them when would be a good time for them and they stated 5:30pm today. So my daughter and myself arrived about 5:32pm and walked in and spoke with the artist and he said he would be about 30 or 40 more minutes and he would be with us. We were still waiting at 7:40pm! As we walked out, the artist asked if we were leaving and my daughter replied to him yes and he was like I am almost done and I'll be with y'all. We did not stay. Very poor communication with this place. Ended up spending about 6 to 7 hours at this place to get a tattoo and ended up with nothing.

Gilbert is an amazing tattoo artist. I have gotten all but one tattoo done by him and will never go anywhere else. He does them quickly but never jeopardizes quality. Gilbert will help and give little tips on how things will lay/ look so to make every tattoo the best. The only downside is that he no longer takes new clients and is booked out for months in advance.
